Coffee is not new to online marketplaces, but the landscape is changing. Some of these multi-roaster marketplaces have focused on technology, photography, or internationally-recognized roasters, but a new player is joining the league – one that focuses on the origin.
Crema.co seems to be the answered prayer to many coffee enthusiasts, professionals, and average drinkers who are concerning about their buying habits. Where is the money going? Are the farmers receiving a legitimate wage? Who even grows my coffee? All of these questions will be answered with the up and coming Crema.co marketplace.
Crema.co will allow coffee buyers to choose from individual roasters, enlist in a curated subscription, and even create a queue of roasted coffees to be send periodically. All of this will be done through browsing the seasonal coffee offerings by origin, farm, certification, roast level, and more.
We want to make coffee more personal by connecting coffee drinkers with the people who roasted and grew their coffee. Coffee growers have often been marginalized in the past; but we are focused on telling their stories through text, images, videos, and interactive maps. And, in the future, we even hope to facilitate direct communication between you, the coffee drinker, and the person who grew your morning brew.
I’m impressed with the Crema.co Kickstarter campaign and have pledged money to their cause – in exchange for some sure-to-be-excellent coffees. They’ve got four days until the campaign expires, but they still lack several thousand dollars.
If you believe in the pursuit of Crema.co, consider backing their Kickstarter.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to blog about what we’re trying to do at Crema.co!
Checked their site and page on Kickstarter – a worthy cause I’d say! Shared this to our followers.
